30 Seconds with The Bachelor
30 seconds with Joey Graziadei from ABC’s Season 28 of the Bachelor. The footage was shot on the 2023 US Open’s Blue Carpet with a Canon C70. I packaged the footage as 30 second’s with The Bachelor during Joey’s season to attract more views. I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the footage and Adobe After Effects to create the motion graphics. I put on my creative mind to create easter eggs for Bachelor and tennis fans like “racquet roses” graphics and a blooper at the end just as the show does! This sizzle was originally posted to US Open and USTA socials by their social team, with Joey Graziadei and ABC’s The Bachelor’s instagram accounts collaborating on the post with them. The post attracted over 1.2 million views.
US Open Legacy Court Initiative
US Open Legacy Court Initiative with Coco Gauff, a piece I had the pleasure of filming and editing for US Open and USTA Social Channels. I traveled to Delray Beach, FL to film this piece with a team of two other videographers. Together we captured footage of the US Open Legacy Court Initiative. This initiative was started after the 2023 US Open Women’s Singles Finals win by Coco Gauff, her first grand slam victory. USTA pledged to match the prize money of Coco, which was 3 million dollars to be used to refurbish courts across the United States. This first initiative was only right to complete in Coco’s hometown - Delray Beach, FL. I used a Canon C-70 to film the footage along with audio and lighting when needed. We mic’ed Coco with a wireless lavalier to capture her commentary throughout the event. To edit this piece I used Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. I generated captions and added minor graphics like the US Open watermark and endslate.
US Open St. Paddy’s Day
A match highlight between Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic with special effects created in Adobe After Effects to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. In this edit, I generated a rainbow effect in Adobe After Effects. The rainbow follows the tennis ball in a lob shot that I had land into a PNG of a pot of gold. When the tennis ball landed in the pot of gold, I created a sparkle effects by scaling in and copying the same shape layer to create one large sparkle. The sparkle then scaled back down to disappear revealing multiple layers of tennis balls. I also added celtic music to play into the story and raised the audio of the commentary. This post received over 208k views on social media.
Women’s History Month - 2024
For this piece I collected images of both professional women tennis players, as well as US Open women staff. The message was to exemplify how each woman plays a part in the Grand Slam tournament, whether they are a professional or an employee. I used ENG match footage, some of which I shot during the 2023 US Open women’s final between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka. I created keyframes on the images of staff to animate the images. I used PA commentary that was motivating and used words like “she” or “her” to emphasize the message and to relate this to Women’s History Month. I then typed the words “she” and “her” in a large font, used US Open branded colors and font, while lowering the opacity to overlay on the visuals. I took images of the players as well as staff and created a grid zooming out to emphasize that all these women are equally important and connected to the success of the US Open. The editing was done using Adobe Premiere Pro and graphics were created in Adobe After Effects. The footage I was responsible for filming was shot on a Panasonic GH5.
